Hood to Coast was one of the most amazing races I’ve ever experienced. It was hard, it was fun, it was exhausting - and I wouldn’t change anything about it! It was such an honor to race for Nuun & meet the {incredible} women that made up my team. I Full race report & photos to come - but here are some of my favorites from the weekend Action Shot:
kind of really wish we were still hanging out...

WILL RUN FOR MARGARITAS
About Me
- {will run for margaritas}
- I've been running my whole life (no joke - my mom ran all 9 months of pregnancy). Running is something that I have loved forever - from my 1st track meet at the age of 6 to running the Army 10 Miler at 25. I love it so much that I went to college on a track scholarship, where I ran the 400m hurdles and the 400m. Now, with college track behind me, I am able to focus on distance running and Olympic distance triathlons. I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do – plus, I need to do something to burn the margarita calories!
Hebrews 12:1 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
1 Corinthians 9:24 - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

How is such a supermodel-gorgeous woman so FREAKIN' FAST? I loved watching you motor past EVERYONE in sight during that leg in the dark... pink sparkles flashing as your legs turned over faster than the Roadrunner! Poetry in motion you are :) Really fantastic to get to meet you and hope "next time" ;-) we get to spend more time together :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time! Love love love the Sparkle skirts, so cute and fun. You really rocked those legs, nice job!
ReplyDeleteWOW killer paces woman!!! Nice work and loving the sparkly pink skirts!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a blast - can't wait for the full recap!!! Congrats on a great relay!!
Dang girl you were smokin fast!! And beautiful too! ;) So great to meet you briefly. Well done on your legs!! I had so much fun with that leg...it made me wish I would have trained for it. But I had intended on just running 7:45/8 pace and taking it easy so I was happy with my low 7's and high 6's. But wow, to have all your legs sub 7 avg??! Stellar! And wasn't the second run of leg 10 so fun with all that down hill after the first 2 miles? I loved it!!! It wasn't too steep but just enough to get some kick butt speed and some major roadkill! The first run was tricky for me in the dark on that path..harder to see and kind of creepy being all alone for most of it. But the stars were epic. And that last run says easy...I don't know about you but that wasn't as easy as I thought it would be..maybe it was because it was the last leg. Again, killer paces, Gorgeous girl, and So great to meet you!
ReplyDeleteYOU KILLED IT OUT THERE!! 6's for all 3 legs?!?! You rock!! :) so happy we finally got to hang out even if for a tad. I see many more meet ups in our future ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah!! Love this~
ReplyDeleteOooo gosh. So amazing. I can't wait to hear more. You are amazing lady. those speeds are ridiculous. i did one mile today at 6:49 and thought i was going to die. lol
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast! Those skirts are so cute too :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! The more I read the more I want to do this someday!
ReplyDeleteawesome paces Melody!!! You really need to do a 5K/10K soon as you are in PRIME shape for some great PR's!!!! again, so sad I couldn't run with you, such a bummer!!!:(:( but you did great and you are even more beautiful in person than in your pics!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just fantastic. Not only are you ladies fast, you're gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteAmazing pace for those legs, wow! And you guys looked fantastic in the skirts. What a great experience!
ReplyDelete:)
wooohooo Mel!!! Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pace!! Looks like you guys had SO much fun!! Gotta love the sparkly skirts :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so fast!! Amazing job on all your legs!!! I love these pictures and I loved meeting you - my only regret from the weekend is that we didn't get to hang out more. Here's hoping for a reunion race sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteThat seriously looks like the most fun race in the world! (The sparkle skirts and painted van only intrigue me even more!!!)
ReplyDeleteYou are so fast girl! How did you get so fast...or were you born super-speedy?!
